ReCycle

As a last resort, if an item isn't reusable or rebuildable, it gets recycled. But first we tear it apart as best we can, save any good or reusable components, then seperate the materials into bins which are sent to the appropriate material handler. Nothing ends up in a landfill or is shipped over seas against international treaty. Our mission is to keep as much electronics as possible from becoming a toxic burden on the environment.
  • Metals and Plastics - we're very lucky in that there's a metal recycler directly across the street from our facility, NW Recycling. This means no shipping (a pollution savings right there!) and no need for storage, saving us time and money.
  • Circuit boards & CPUs - all these are sent to Hallmark Refining Corp. in Mt. Vernon, WA for precious metals extraction and recycling.
  • Monitors & TVs - our RE Lectronics volunteers have begun the process of dismantling these in house in order to ensure that the CRT glass is recycled in North America. Any amount received above what we can currently process is sent to Total Reclaim, one of the few facilities equipped to handle these toxic and dangerous items.
  • Misc. electronics - all other electronics are dismantled by RE Lectronics volunteers and materials are sent to the appropriate responsible handler. Any amount received above what we can currently process is sent to Total Reclaim.
